Just 3 Girls

We're just 3 girls who love our afternoon teas: a young mum, an entrepreneur and a little lady. We plan on reviewing all the hotels and restaurants around Dublin and Wicklow and who knows where else.

Our Review

For any one who loves a little shopping followed by a lovely long relaxing lunch this is the place. our table was only a few steps away from the hustle and bustle of Dundrum town center.

The service was fantastic and no reservation was needed, we were sat in a beautiful big booth over looking a great view of Dundrum. The price, is what makes this afternoon tea in our opinion, for €13 you get a very large afternoon tea and for an extra €2 you can add Prosecco. The afternoon tea is served on beautiful china but I'm afraid we were a quite let down by the some what messy, careless presentation!.

First of all all the pastries, sandwich etc, were all over the place, not sticking to the traditional tiered layers that normally are adhered too. The sandwiches which are large rolls were very messy and hard to eat.....also not the nicest we have tasted.  The Pastries however were very nice although again not presented very well and were large, we had to use a knife and fork to help avoid the mayhem!!

All in all the food was fine but difficult to eat and not fancy like you normally expect from Afternoon Tea, but for the price and the location its fantastic. We would definitely recommend.

Cafe Zest on level 3 in House of Fraser has the most spectacular view of any cafe in Dublin, from our terrace you can enjoy your meal or a cup of freshly ground coffee overlooking South Dublin.
