First impressions - A lovely modern lounge area with funky fireplaces built into the partisan wall....perfect for a winter afternoon tea. The Staff were very polite and helpful and we were made to feel welcome from the very start.
The afternoon Tea came out very well presented and we started with the sandwiches, Ham and cheese very nice for a ham and cheese, Egg mayonnaise with lettuce beautiful presented clean and fresh looking, Duck liver patty gorgeous but what really topped it all off was the crab meat on soda bread, with a hint of spice very moreish.
The scones were nice but nothing to make them really special. They were served warm, nice crisp sweet coating with a soft fluffy center. They were served with Jam and marmalade (the marmalade we thought was a little odd for scones!)
Now I'm not A peanut butter fan in particular but for the peanut butter parfait was quite yummy and moreish. Both of us were a little disappointed at the lack of a chocolate sweet amongst the selection and the carrot cake although aesthetically pleasing was pretty bland. The raspberry moose cake was good though.
In conclusion the food was good and well presented. We didn't however feel that any particular part stood out as amazing.....if I'm honest I was expecting a little more from the Dylan experience. The the dining room was lovely and cosy though and there was nothing to overall find fault with. A lovely scene for a winter afternoon tea....some more chocolate please next time!!
