The location of Druids Glen is beautifully secluded, and the setting is very picturesque. The dining room overlooks beautiful old trees and through this you can see the golf course. For a country afternoon tea it's location is perfect!
The presentation of the food was beautiful, but on closer inspection, the choice did seem limited. The choice was only ham and cheese and egg mayonnaise, and so the selection not very inventive.
The pastries and scones were the best part of the meal. The scones were lovely and warm, and the lemon curd that came with it was lovely! The pastries included nice editable baskets of chicken and fish, not very tasty but unusual, and the salmon with brown bread was great!
Pastries: were nice, and unusual, and definitely looked the part. However, the taste of each pastry was not great, only good.
Service: It was very hard to get their attention, and no drinks or coffee offered until half way through. This was bad enough, but even worse no plates were offered either. These had to be asked for. However each staff member was very friendly.
